| On many models, there is
a switch on your refrigerator you can turn on to prevent condensation from
forming around the refrigerator and freezer doors. On some models the
switch says “reduces exterior cabinet moisture" and other models have an
"exterior cabinet moisture" switch which should be to the “on” position.
This switch activates heater strips that evaporate any condensation that
may have developed. A minimum amount of condensation is normal, especially
during higher humidity conditions. We recommend keeping the switch on this setting until the outside temperature and humidity decrease. If you live in an area where conditions are more humid, you may need to leave the switch in the “reduces exterior cabinet moisture” or “on” position (wording depends on the model) all year long. This setting uses approximately $7.00 of electricity more per year if it is kept on for the whole year. |
