The Amana ice maker is
designed to produce seven to nine harvests of ice in a 24-hour period.
Each harvest consists of eight cubes. The ice maker will produce ice
faster when the freezer temperature is at 0° to 2°F, and more food is
stored in the freezer. When the freezer is more full, the temperature
remains more stable in the defrost cycle, keeping it closer to the 0° to
2°F range. The temperature must be less than 15°F to produce any ice at
all. Ice production is also affected by the room temperature, number of
defrost cycles, and number of door openings.
