| My washer is vibrating and/or moving. | ||
| Do not attempt service or replace parts of the appliance unless referred to in the owner's manual. Follow all safety precautions provided in the owner's manual. | ||
| We recommend installing
the washer on a solid, level floor. A solid floor allows the washer to
remain level at all times during operation. If the flooring is not solid,
it will “give” with the washer during the agitation and spin cycles,
causing a great deal of vibration. You may consider purchasing an anchor
kit (Amana part number 155P3) and/or placing a floor brace under the area
where you have the washer installed. An anchor kit can be purchased online
from the Amana Store referenced to the left, by calling Amana at
1/800-843-0304, or by selecting “Locate Servicer / Local Parts Source”
referenced below. Make sure the washer is level and the rubber foot pads have been installed. Please refer to the Installation Instructions provided with the washer for specifics regarding how to level your washer model and installing the rubber feet provided with the washer. If the washer is newly installed or has recently been moved, tilt the washer back and verify the shipping plug (1997 or newer models) has been removed from the base of the washer. To remove the shipping plug from the washer, step on the cardboard base, tilt the washer back, and slide out the base.NOTE: Save shipping plug and shipping brace; reinstall whenever washer is moved more than 4 feet. Make sure the load is balanced. An out-of-balance wash load may cause the washer to vibrate or move during the spin cycle. The out-of-balance switch should automatically stop the spin cycle if the load is unbalanced. If this occurs, rearrange the clothes in the tub and close the lid. The washer should resume spinning. If it does not, or the washer continues to vibrate and/or move, you may need to contact an Amana authorized service representative to schedule a repair. |
