If there is a power outage, can I still use my gas cooking appliance?
Do not attempt service or replace parts of the appliance unless referred to in the owner's manual. Follow all safety precautions provided in the owner's manual.
RANGE OR COOKTOP SURFACE BURNERS  
 
The surface burners on your range or cooktop can be lit with a match. To ignite only the surface burners during a power failure:  
  1. Hold a burning match 1/2 inch from the burner.  
     
  2. Push and turn the burner knob to the "LITE" position.  
     
  3. Remove hand and match when the burner ignites.  
     
  4. Adjust the burner knob to the desired setting.
 
RANGE OVEN OR WALL OVEN  
 
The oven cannot be lit with a match. The electronic ignitor for the oven has a safety device specifically designed to control the amount of gas flowing to the oven burner. If an electric failure or an ignitor failure occurs, the gas to the oven burner is shut off.
